I was thrilled for the opportunity and it was helping keep the lights on literally and figuratively to have that outlet. I was just doing it because those were my chances to get up and sing, and I just loved singing so much. For years and years, I was either waiting tables or I was doing a show every single night, and sometimes going to do a show after I got off of work.
